Villa Kumpu is a dream come true for our customers: a unique log villa in the lake landscapes of Western Uusimaa. The log house blends into the Finnish mixed forest and opens to nature with large landscape windows.
The project was smooth for first-time builders, and the result is the family's beloved second home, where nature is present everywhere.
The dark-toned entity designed by the award-winning architect is also a candidate for the 2025 Wood Award – cast your vote for the site by October 15, 2025!
When our customers found the perfect plot of land after years of searching, an hour's drive from home, the decision was made in an instant.
The stunning lakeside plot was sheltered, surrounded by old trees. When a loon greeted them in the shore waters on their first visit, it was clear that this place would be their second home.
Villa Kumpu is designed by the award-winning SAFA architect Marko Simsiö, KOAN Oy. The house was transformed into a winding, one-story log house, where the main building, sauna, and guest house are combined under one roof. This created sheltered terraces between the buildings, where you can enjoy Finland's variable weather conditions.
