Description

Tradition and urban details

The one-storey version of the Honka Markki house shares the aesthetics and architectural details of the two-storey version. The facade combines log walls and larch cladding.

The large window surfaces are joined to the non-settling walls with minimalist mouldings. Instead of the traditional cross corners of a log house, the house is built with Honka Zero corners suited for contemporary tastes.

The Markki collection was designed for the housing fair 2016 in Seinäjoki Finland by the famous, award-winning architect Anssi Lassila, who is known as an innovator in Finnish architecture and who combines traditional building materials with contemporary architecture. His honours include, for example, winning the Finlandia Prize for Architecture in 2015.
